I'm so overloaded at the moment that I can't commit to doing this. But I
will do what I can, starting with EOL stuff. The fileevent stuff may be
beyond what I can either understand or handle at the moment.

Nobody else is working on it. I would really like to get
Tcl file IO working before doing a 1.3 release of Jacl.
The basics are not that hard, but they would take
some time to implement properly. The reall tricky bit
is the fileevent API. It would need to be implemented
like the fileevent impl under Windows since Java
does not support async IO.
Do you want to take over as the "owner" of this
