tile 0.8.2 multi-platform starkit available

tile082.kit is a multi-platform starkit. It contains binaries for macosx-ix86, macosx-powerpc, linux-ix86, win32-ix86 and win32-x86_64 (aka: amd64).
To run the demo do 'tclkit tile082.kit' or source the starkit file to make the package available in your Tk application.
NOTE: Tk8.5 already contains the same package as ttk so this starkit is only useful for Tk 8.4

tile082.zip contains a prebuilt windows binary and the tcl files for tile 0.8.2. You may unpack this in your Tcl lib subdirectory to install it. This version has been built as a thread-enabled extension and should work fine with threaded and non-threaded builds of tcl 8.4.6 and above.

tile078.kit is a multiplatform starkit. It contains binaries for Darwin-ppc, Darwin-x86, Linux-x86, SunOS-sparc and Windows-x86. To run the demo do 'tclkit tile078.kit' or source the kitfile to make the package available in your Tk application.
In tcl8.5 it should be possible to use the tile078.kit as a Tcl Module by renaming it to tile-0.7.8.tm and installing it in the tcl/lib/tcl8/8.4/ directory.

winico 0.6 released

Announcing the release of the Winico 0.6 extension for Tk. This release fixes issues with display of unicode glyphs in the tooltip windows, fixes popdown of menus and recovery after explorer restarts. See the change log.

Tile 0.6.2p1 released -- 0.6.2 recalled

Tile 0.6.2 has been recalled due to a recently-introduced memory leak. (The leak principally affects applications which repeatedly create and destroy widgets; applications with static layouts are largely unaffected).

The source release tile-0.6.2.tar.gz in the SF downloads area has been replaced with tile-0.6.2p1.tar.gz, which fixes the leak. The *.kit and *.zip files are also unaffected, as is the build included in the upcoming ActiveTcl release.

Memory leak in tile 0.6.2

George Peter Staplin discovered a recently-introduced memory leak in Tile 0.6.2. The leak principally affects applications that create, destroy, and recreate widgets on a regular basis. If this applies to your app, either apply patch #1184091, fetch the current (15 Apr 2005) CVS HEAD, or wait a couple of days for 0.6.2pl1.

Tile 0.5 binary releases

I have uploaded a tile05.zip which is a binary release for Windows. This works with Tk 8.4+ or Tk 8.5 and should be unpacked in your tcl lib subdirectory.

Also available is a starkit tile05.kit which contains support for Windows, OpenBSD-x86, Linux-x86 and MacOS X Aqua.

For all platforms do the following to see the demo:
tclkit tile05.kit

I have uploaded a new version of tile04.zip which is a binary rlease for Windows. This works with Tk 8.4+.

Also a new issue of tile04.kit which contains support for Windows and also Linux-x86 and MacOS X (thanks to Steve Landers). (NB: the linux and mac binaries need updating).
