Using a slightly modified [1] "contrib/uwmrc.example" as the configuration file, I start Xorg with uwm as the window manager. Then I open two terminals and try to switch between them with Alt-Tab (a key-binding that is listed in the configuration file). However, the only result is that each keypress produces a question mark ("?") in the active terminal. Is there anything special that must be done to make task-switching work?

The configuration file further lists Alt-Fx key combinations as key-bindings to switch the desktop; however, that doesn't work, either. Other than that, mouse and keyboard work as expected.

[1] I replaced rxvt with xterm as the default terminal emulator, and I replaced the font "dejavu sans" with "terminus". I also switched the focus model from "sloppy" to "click".

On download, Sourceforge sends a file called "uwm-0.30.tar.bz2". On "tar -xvf uwm-0.30.tar.bz2", the archive extracts its contents into the directory "uwm" (and NOT into the directory "uwm-0.30") -- overwriting any "uwm" directory that may already exist. That is "an accident waiting to happen." Suggestion: use the same, versioned name for the directory as for the archive. Just like virtually every *other* source package does.

XCB has removed many functions and renamed many things.

Update is on the way, but I will support only the latest xcb version.
