hi im trying to bring the new 5.72 up on my 10.04 32bit system
for 3 days now fighting with the installation txt thats a real miss !!!
error on MAKE configure is ok

there is no gdkglext-config.h in the gtkglext deb packet
its a shame that there are 3years back compiled packets 5.12 is well

I'm traveling and don't have access to the build.log file from my
recent build from source, but in the file INSTALL.txt there is this
warning, which sounds related to the build error you encounter:

BUG on Ubuntu 10.10: The files /usr/lib/libgdkglextmm-x11-1.2.la and
/usr/lib/libgtkglextmm-x11-1.2.la
specify dependence on libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la, which does not exist. A
workaround is
to edit /usr/lib/libgdkglextmm-x11-1.2.la and
/usr/lib/libgtkglextmm-x11-1.2.la,
replacing libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la (missing static library) with
libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so
(dynamically loaded library).
