Video Capture starts automatically on program start

Hello,

Thanks for an awesome program. It has helped my job tremendously since I needed to use the PS3 eye on a mac and your program worked out of the box.

There is one thing that I would really like to see. As soon as the program starts, video capture starts. I'm lazy and if I can get the camera going automatically, life would just be swell.

I looked through all the menu options and don't see anything to solve my lack of laziness, so I assume it's just not a feature implemented yet. I'm also not used to macs, so maybe I'm just missing something.

Support for Microsoft Xbox Live Vision in macam

The Microsoft Xbox Live Vision webcam for the Xbox 360 is listed in your table, USB ids 0x045e 0x0294, with status: depends (UVC).

The camera does not work in the macam 0.9.2 application (Status: No Camera)

The camera does work in Mac OS 10.7.2 applications like Photo Booth and Skype (using Apple's UVC driver). However, as far as I can tell there is no way to control image settings like gain, exposure, resolution, etc.

The camera is currently available very cheaply online (e.g. on eBay) and is interesting for having a CCD chip (not CMOS) which can be used in low light (e.g. astrophotography). I am willing to send one to a macam developer on request (or buy another one and have it shipped to you) if that would help.

I would love to have a driver that lets a video conversion device (ex. Black Magic Video Recorder) be seen as a camera and then we could plug any PTZ camera into it and receive the video signal. Control does not have to be there - I would just like to be able to integrate video conference or camcorders into Skype. Thanks!

Playstation Eye with Pencil Check Pro?

I have a Playstation Eye on a Mac. Works awesome with macam.

BUT problem is when I copy over the driver to library/quicktime and try to use it in pencil check Pro (by Toon Boom)

All I get is every color of the rainbow looping in a seizure like stobe. :(

Is there any plans to use AVFoundation that is found in Lion? Apparently legacy catchers will be deprecated in Lion, necessitating new drivers.

I noticed when running macamDSC on the command line that it ran just fine under Mac OS X, despite what appeared to be a missing framework. further investigation showed that on 10.4, the ICACameraPriv framework has been moved to /System/Library/Frameworks and renamed to ICADevices. As a bonus, it has the headers! I discovered that one of the callback functions wasn't coded correctly, but that was quickly fixed (that and it was an unimplemented function anyways).

This camera has a video in jack, but it doesnt work with macam, it would be really nice if it did. here is the link to the driver
