Webdisk version: 0.44

Environment:
Server: RedHat 5 Enterprise server (Linux) (virtual machine)
Webserver: Apache Tomcat 5.5.23
Client: Windows XP SP2
Webbrowser: IE 6.0 en Firefox 2.0.0.11

About me:
Jaap van der Linden
J.vanderlinden@uci.ru.nl
Developer

Problem:
The 'normal' login screen is a page containing only (in our case a logo) and two input-fields for user-name and password and a "login"-button.

After entering a wrong user-name on login, you cannot get properly connected even if you fill in the right user-name and password after this.
For instance, your user-name is "s0001", but you login with "s00001", one zero too much.
After several seconds (if the user_name is correct and the password is either correct or incorrect however, the response is immediate!)
a page is returned that has -among other things- the follwing properties:

a) the url shows the wrong user-name, for instance: “https://goudoogje.uci.ru.nl/ba/base/campusdisk.ru.nl/s00001/”

b) the second object in the bar that shows as first object the up-button, the pathinfo, you also see the wrong user-name:
“/campusdisk.ru.nl/s00001/”

c) On the location where normally you see the toolbar, you also see the wrong user-name:
“Admission denied smb://campusdisk.ru.nl/s00001/ (jCIFS: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password., -1073741715)”.
Below this, you see two input-fields for user-name and password and a "login"-button, without any decoration.

If you enter the right user-name and password on this page, the same page is returned again.
The only difference is the error-message, This is (partly in Dutch, sorry):
“[1] Niet in staat te koppelen: smb://campusdisk.ru.nl/s00001/ (De netwerknaam wordt niet gevonden. ) “.
(Notice that the user-name mentioned is still the original wrong user-name !!!!)
Strangely enough, when you open the tree on the left (campusdisk.ru.nl), you see the tree of the right user (s0001)
and from there on, you can go ahead as if you had entered the right user-name ansd password from the beginning.
So this is a work-around, but not easy to explain to the user.

Notice: if on the original login-window you enter the right user-name, but the wrong password, you get the same page as
when the user-name was incorrect, but the url etc. contain the right user-name and the error-message explains that the password was incorrect (-1073741718)”.
If your response is to enter the right user-name and password, there is no more error-message and everything works fine.
If your response is to enter a wrong user-name, you get the same error message as mentioned in the beginning, but the original (correct)
user-name is still shown in the error-message, url and pathinfo. If you correct you error, everything works fine.

So the problem seems to be that the old wrong user-name in some places (the url and the pathinfo) remains,
instead of the newly entered right user-name.

Is there an easy way to correct this in the code or web.xml?

Mp3 files are downloaded as m3u

I posted this problem yesterday, but apparently something went wrong so, again:

General:
Webdisk version: 0.44

Environment:
Server: RedHat 5 Enterprise server (Linux) (virtual machine)
Webserver: Apache Tomcat 5.5.23
Client: Windows XP SP2
Webbrowser: IE 6.0 en Firefox 2.0.0.11

About me:
Jaap van der Linden
J.vanderlinden@uci.ru.nl
Developer

Problem:
Opening an mp3 file does not result in the file being played. This is because the file is saved with a m3u-extension instead of mp3.
If all you did was click on the file in Integratum Webdisk, in IE6 this it is not immediately apparent that extension is incorrect:
the default player is being opened, but playing does not start.
If the player is WinAmp, there is no message, but Windows Media Player shows one:
“Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the server is not responding. If you entered a URL or path to play the file, verify that it is correct. If you clicked a link to play the file, the link may not be valid.”).
By the way: the link you see is correct (extension is mp3).
In Firefox, it is more apparent that the extension is incorrect: you get the notification that "you have chosen to open the following file:
<filename>.mp3. This is a M3U file from <url>".

That the extension is the problem, is apparent also, when you right-click on the filename (in integratum webdisk) and choose “Save as”.
Some users see the extension m3u, others do not see an extension, but you always see the proposed type: “Winamp playlist file” or “M3U file” depending on the default player.
If you save it like this and you open it, the default player is being opened, but playing does not start.
If the player is Windows Media Player, you get the errormessage (another one than the above-mentioned!):
“Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the associated playlist is not valid.”.
WinAmp does not work either, but does not give an errormessage.

Work-around: do not click but right-click and then: add to the proposed filename the extension “.mp3”, or if the extension already is “.m3u”, change it into “.mp3”.

If you choose “Download as zip” from the toolbar and afterwards unzip this zipped file, the extension is correct (mp3).

mp3 files are downloaded as m3u files

General:
