Yeah, lightdm and gdm can be painful.

The problem with the nice themes for sddm is that they often need kde plasma components.
Mainly the package plasma-workspace.

The logs don't give a hint or error why lightdm isn't working.

You could try the following:
1) use sddm as display manager (pulls in kf5 packages) and tell me if that works
2) a clean install with the latest xfce iso.

Just re installed libaccounts-glib package ,, rebooted but still getting
black screen on lightdm

Guess something more is missing as well

I removed gdm ( because it was pulling in extra gnome packages along )
and installed and enabled lightdm . On reboot if I don`t keep pressing esc
button continuosuly to boot in verbose mode lightdm never shows up and I am
left with a blank screen and I force verbose mode only then lightdm shows
up through which I can login to my XFCE desktop.
What might be causing this?**

You always use client / server software. E.g. dbus, samba. Brotli is needed by kf5 to process some data.

I think vlc needs kf5 packages.

You could try to run pacman -Rs kf5.
If it bails out then the kde packages are still needed.

LightDM needs some gnome packages too. Mainly gnome-keyring and accountsservice.
It would be helpfull to have an systemd journal ouput from a blank screen boot.
Use journalctl --boot=-1 > log.txt

This gives you the output of the syslog before the current session.
