The product is constantly evolving, there are several updates frequently, stable and does not require our intervention.

Cons: Syslog is basic, maybe better with newer versions.

Overall: Good product that installs quickly, no need for resources for several months to install.
A few days will be enough depending on the environment.

Pros: I've been a PRTG user for several years and the solution is very easy to use to monitor the overall status of the IT infrastructure. From Server, Network devices to clients and IoT devices.
I've had the need of the assistance only a few times. Support is always available by email and manages the ticket until the resolution by assisting with the troubleshooting step by step.

Cons: There are no dedicated sensor for some devices, could be very helpful to monitor dedicated resources with only one click.
Would be helpful the H24 assistance by phone with remote sessions to guide and explain to users how to solve encountered problems.

Overall: Best solution for IT Admins to be aware of everything that happens with the IT infrastructure from one single point.

Pros: Simplicity in autodiscovery process, varied choice of types of devices to be monitored, Interactive maps ideal for NOC services.
Fully customizable real-time alarm notifications.
Customizable filters and tags to manage different customers. Remote probe for monitoring statistics collection via secure connection.

Cons: High availability features, export and import partial configuration, Large scale (more 10k sensors) performance, bulk import and change notification settings from different groups with one click.
Support will be perfect with H24 and phone with remote support and not only NBD via email.

Overall: It's a leader solution to monitor different systems from a single point. Intuitive use and good NBD email support.

Pros: It's a very easy-to-manage sensor-based monitoring tool.
The cons I see and we switched from another monitoring tool to PRTG were:

1. Able to monitor Active directory replication status and errors.
This was a great advantage when it comes to PRTG. we had to use manual methods to see the status or had to use some other 3rd party tools which were only to monitor AD replication. but that bough us admin overhead since we had to check on 2 monitoring tools.

2. Able to see network utilisation in real-time.
Server network interface and network device interfaces we were able to see the real-time network utilisation. this is a great advantage for sys admins and infra admins to see the utilisation and plan ahead if we see any abnormal behaviour.

3. The support was so awesome.
they have a nice support portal through which we can open tickets. I'm sharing this support experience even before I bought a license and was just trailing out the product. the experts provided solutions for all the issues and was able to bring PRTG to live.

Cons: 1. Having difficulty adding bulk devices using a CSV.

Overall: Overall the product is far better than the previously used monitoring tool.

Easy to use have a great web interface. and also having a mobile app is another great advantage.

Love to have this as our primary monitoring tool which we use to monitor our onprem servers, Azure servers, AWS server, application servers and all sorts of network devices.

Pros: A variety of built-in sensors.
Custom sensors in PowerShell.
Many placeholders to use as parameters.
Granular settings for sensors, devices, groups and probes.
Easy to build health maps.
Easy to get technical support.

Cons: It could be a little bit difficult to give some feedback about the improvement of some features.

Overall: I am very confident about the overall health state of my IT infrastructure (cloud and on-premises), since PRTG monitors every important aspect of it.

Pros: It has option to monitor Virtual machine resources with a single sensor thereby reducing the overall sensor count. Also historic as well as real time graphs can be easily plotted with this tool. Notifications through mail can be easily configured and mail groups can be easily configured based on device priorities.

Cons: License cost is a bit high for 2500 sensors as this has to be renewed yearly to get the latest software updates. Also it has limited support for Linux based installations.

Overall: Overall we are completely satisfied with the overall sensor data. All kind of servers including blades, vm's, workstations, and other network devices can be easily monitored with this tool. Also it is best suited for enterprises that require historic logs of all their devices. Even the free version can be utilized efficiently for small businesses to add their core units and monitor efficiently.

Pros: A very versatile product and a great help to solve problems in the IT infrastructure. It has a great variety of sensors and in the products that it does not have, it has some way of monitoring.

Overall: It has helped me solve various problems in applications.

Pros: Freeware edition is really good for a small company that doesn't need a lot of sensors.
I like the notifications system and the number of different sensors for any types of devices and brands.
I've wrote to the support and in less than 24 hours they replied (i was in trial edition), 5 stars!

Cons: I didn't like that in the website is very difficult to find information about free edition, the license pack always appears.

Overall: I've compared this product for a week with others competitors, the free version is the best on the market.

Pros: Easy to install and configure.
You have everything you need on the dashboard and if you need to see more details about "any" sensor, you can have a granular view.
Email notifications are reliable and always punctual to the second.

Cons: It could be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

Overall: Our infrastructure is very big (3 data centers between USA, Europe and APAC).
Without it we couldn't keep monitoring all our resources and guarantee a good service level.
My company has been using this product for years.
Not even a single issue so far.

Pros: 30-day free trial with full features & permanent free license for below 100 sensors. This licensing method is especially useful for partners which need to support the customers.

Cons: Earlier versions there were some unexpected errors during installation. However, the newer version seemed good so far.

Overall: Customer is heavily depending on PRTG to monitor their huge network. Customer renewed Support Contract every 3 years. So far this is the most cost effective & good solution for their network monitoring.

Pros: Ease to use and integrate to other party, My use case is for monitoring Server On cloud and on Premises, Thousand CCTV Camera.

Cons: The Only problem is this product can only run on Windows.

Overall: Best monitoring tools ever, the pricing is fair and there is free version that can be use for try on.

Overall: After years of use, the many features add up every day. In short, a stable product, with valuable updates and very much in line with the market and update needs.

Pros: Graphic design, easy to manage, useful utility and tool, a lot of features, excellent technical support, integration with other application.

Cons: We have no negative experience. Features and designs are enough.

Overall: We use already more than 10 years and very satisfied. We use many feature as summary of sensor's traffic, bandwidth trigger and etc. Also PRTG integrated with email and Telegram.

Pros: 1- Easy to use
2- UI is simple that you can understand everything right away
3- No complication during the installing/deploying phase
4- Continuous update to remove any bugs that are found
5- Support was approved since last year to become more supportive with less time taken to solve the issue.

Cons: Nothing to mention, as i've been using it for a long time.

Overall: I am a senior team leader ip core engineer that has been managing PRTG since 2016, i really depend on this monitoring system, of course i encountered a number of issues but none have stood without solving by the PRTG support team.

I really advise any network to implement in their environment to monitor their traffic on a daily basis.

It scales well by using multiple probes.
The desktop client is nice.
Security assignments are easy when they are tied to Active Directory Groups.

Cons: Map design is more difficult than it should be and they have an outdated look to them.

Overall: Their update process is the easiest and most reliable of any monitoring solution I've used. Most monitoring and alerting systems require months of work to deploy where PRTG is useful within a few days of effort.

Pros: Easy to use. Lots of information and help manuals. Nice design
Possibility of customizing the tool with multiple functionalities, API type.

Cons: Price. On some occasions, the total cost of the product, the client may opt for other utilities that in the long run are more costly to administer.

Overall: The experience in use, administration, configuration and support of the product has been very good. Over the years, features and functionality have been improved.

Pros: Have a whole monitor view for my network devices, I can adjust the monitor settings easily. And handle multi-model devices & servers.

Cons: There are still some kinds of devices' sensors need to be created by default library.

Overall: However, PRTG is a great monitor tool. It helps us to review whole devices and servers' status so we can manage them easily.

Pros: It's hard to believe that PRTG can do so much in such a small size!
It can basically meet all your network, server, application, storage, and virtualization needs.
The most memorable thing for me was PRTG's ability to grab the data that needed to be monitored at a very fast frequency.
So I think PRTG is light, fast, simple and easy to use.

Cons: After all, the size is here, and it is extravagant to think that PRTG can achieve more perfect functions. The disadvantage is that it cannot achieve the IP address management and configuration management necessary in network management.
Also the topology diagram is a factor that I don't like, PRTG's topology diagram does not allow for high degree of freedom of connection.

Overall: Overall, it seems that the overall ability of the PRTG is still evident to all, all aspects are in a relatively balanced posture, there is no special place to excel, there are not too many shortcomings, just like the barrel effect, very balanced.
And to be able to integrate so many functions in such a lightweight volume I think is its greatest feature.
And the speed of PRTG updates is also very fast, which is a good sign for an IT company.
