Pros: Easy to use, simple for many tasks but robust enough to handle more complex captures and edits. Great support and training from Tech Smith as well.

Cons: Some of the more advanced features can be a little tricky to use. I also feel like the editor tool, while quite capable, could be a bit easier to use in some respects. But these are minor concerns about an overall great product.

Overall: I've been a Snagit user for years now. When I show many colleagues what it can do, they are amazed. And as a talent development professional, this tool is indispensable in content creation and communication. Snagit is a must in my professional toolkit.

Pros: It’s really quick to take screenshots of exactly what you want with guides to know what will be included.
It also saves the recent screenshots, making it quick to go back and edit the screenshot for minor changes.
I often use the arrows, boxes, and text overlays to easily call things out in emails and Teams messages, as wells as to create process flow documentation

Cons: Not much comes to mind, although it might be nice to be able to expand a screenshot of part of the screen to more of the screen after the screenshot’s already been taken.

Overall: I enjoy using it for work and personal task. It’s a great piece of software and makes a lot of things I do easier and quicker.

Overall: I've been using Snag-It for over 10 years. It has evolved in this time to be extremely powerful and easy to use. In my role as Technical Writer/Training Instructor, I use Snag-It daily to document existing functionality of software. I also use it to create mock ups for future screens in our software. I've recently taken advantage of its video recording capabilities to best demonstrate various features of our software. I recommend Snag-It to everyone!

Pros: I have been using Snagit for a good 20 years, now...I think it's been that long. Time flies when you're busy living it. I am not a graphics person. All the cool stuff graphic artists do....I'm not one of them. I have been a Snagit fan all these years because it's simple to use. This program allows me to accomplish what I need to accomplish with ease, a minimum of hassle.

Cons: I have only one whine....no drag and drop on Editor! If I could just grab the graphic and drag it into Editor, especially multiple graphics at one time, I would be SUCH a happy Snagit user!

Overall: My overall experience has been a very good one. There is a reason I have used this program for all these many years, maintained my license, gotten the upgrades. Snagit is a great program, I'm so glad I have it to use!

Pros: The ability to capture a web page beyond the size of the screen by scrolling is non-negotiable and hence why I have been a Snag it user for over ten years.

Cons: Nothing than I can think of. Maybe easier to have licence renewal for three years rather than every year.

Pros: + I like the ease with which I can quickly take a screenshot, crop a specific area of my screen, or just record something in a matter of a couple of clicks. In general, I don't like having this type of software running in the background because of the excessive consumption of resources it can have. However I have not had either problem with Snagit as it only uses resources excessively when I record in a high quality, so this is not always the case and I can also set it to the video quality that I consider good.

+ The prices are very well adapted to what I was looking for, generally there are many monthly or annual payment services which if I stop paying the established fee I lose the service. On the other hand, Snagit is practically a one-time payment, you only have to pay a small annual maintenance which implies being able to receive updates whenever you need it. So thanks to this small cost that this software costs me, I can increase productivity, as well as I have a good return by being able to have a software to capture everything at the moment I need it, in addition to having a good image quality and also being able to share with my work team captures them with the annotations with important information.

+ I can have a visualization of all the captures made previously without having to navigate between folders to look for old captures. I liked that its clipboard is very wide and comfortable because if I copied an image over another I just have to open Snagit's clipboard and find the desired image, video or audio without any problem. I can also bookmark the screenshots that I take and that I consider I have to always have, this helps me a lot so that I don't have to remember where the screenshots are, I only have to review the favorites section to find what I'm looking for.

+ The text replacement of an image was quite useful for me, I don't have to go into an image editing software since with Snagit I was able to recognize the text of an image and I only had to click and write the text that is going to be replaced within the image. It is not perfect because in certain texts with complicated backgrounds it is not perfect, but in backgrounds with plate colors everything is wonderful.

Cons: - It takes a while to start, so I have to let my computer run it at login and wait for it to run correctly so I can take screenshots or record screen without any problem. It should be noted that I use a computer with good resources, however it does not seem that this affects the execution of Snagit when I want to run it to use any of its functions, I prefer that it not always be open but it is the only way to have this software immediately available then I have no choice.

- They should add more flowchart templates, I don't find the templates professional even if I have the premium version with the possibility of more templates. In addition, the editor is very simple, I know that this software is not an image editor or a presentation creator, but if they are going to include a function to be able to make diagrams with the screenshots, they should also polish this function to make it more complete. So I avoid using other software to do this but could directly do it in Snagit.

- I don't usually have this problem very often, it's just that when there's a new update and it's not completely finished or contains bugs, I have to uninstall everything again and try to go back to a previous version. This means that I now have to back up previous installations in case new updates fail and avoid interrupting use of this software by waiting for the Snagit development team to fix the issues. It should have a function that directly makes me go back to a previous version when something fails without me having to do a lot of things to get everything back to the way it was.

- I want to have the ability to remove the mouse arrow from the video captures that I do, this interrupts a lot in the presentations that I occasionally do with this software, since when I'm explaining something it's very useful but when I don't want to just point anything the mouse arrow gets in the way and distracts the audience. I know this is not a complete video editor since it lacks functions but it is not bad to be able to remove the mouse without any problem with a couple of clicks.

Overall: When I am correcting a report within my company, I usually make notes to help others improve certain aspects to better convey a message without confusion, so with this software I can take screenshots or make a short video adding notes. or recording an audio saying what to improve without the need to edit the document or meet in person.
I give my clients an orientation with screenshots with the documents in digital versions about the information of the properties that they are going to buy in order to facilitate the identification of certain parameters that they should consider before buying a property. Cons: Among the negative aspects, I can highlight that it is a somewhat dense and heavy platform to use on the computer and does not have a mobile platform, this would be crucial to be able to work from our phone and make mobile captures without this limitation that Snagit currently has. On the other hand, although its function is efficient and provides captures in real time, over time the platform becomes heavy and for some reason it does not work as smoothly as it did before, when we started using it. I find it easier to be able to do it this way since I only have to press a few keys to be able to capture what I need at a certain moment, thus saving me time in clicking or searching for the software to start a screenshot. Also, I can have a floating widget that also allows me to start capturing whenever I want.

Cons: º I would like that in the toolbar I can customize the order of the tools that are established in this software. I would like to be able to change certain elements or simply remove them so that they are not in the way since I do not use everything 100% of this platform or sometimes I simply take screenshots without making any edits since usually I just need to send something with a simple screenshot of screen.

º I would like to have the ability to put an image on the screenshot that I am editing, when I want to attach several images into one I have to resort to external software or simply use MS Paint, this is cumbersome since I want everything to be inside from one platform without resorting to others to edit an image capture. I know this is not an image or video editor, but it would be helpful to be able to place one image on top of another.

º Sometimes selecting an area or a window becomes confusing when it comes to wanting to record the screen and not see other elements. In addition, I would like only the content of the window that I specified to be recorded even if I pass another window over it since it seems that when selecting a window it cuts out that area and starts recording so that anything that appears in that box will appear on the video capture.

º Sometimes when I finish recording the screen, when I want to stop the recording to save on video, Snagit stops out of nowhere making me lose the recording. Another similar thing that happened to me is that at the end of the recording everything seems normal, but when opening the video it simply goes black with the minutes that the recording lasted or an empty file remains in video format making me understand that it never recorded anything. This has happened to me a few more times, however it is annoying sometimes to have to re-record the same thing twice.

º There are not many bug fix updates and when an update occurs it is only to release new versions which can only be acquired by repurchase. This is extremely annoying because I paid for a final product and if it is not stable I would expect that to be corrected or improved, however what you get is a new version with the improvements and corrections that should have been made in a previous version through updates.

Overall: Snagit has allowed me to be able to record the video conferences that I have within my company and thus have a record of everything that was discussed in case someone forgot a point discussed or that a staff could not be available, so this makes it easy in many aspects of the job. In addition, it has been useful to me when I want to have a screenshot of some annotations within the video conferences which will be useful for later. Speaking of annotations, this platform has also allowed me the ease of making annotations to my screenshots that I take to be able to make explanations within the communication that I have with colleagues in the company and thus share ideas more easily.
