The next thing is to see whether there is in fact anything inside the
numpy folder.

Also, in a terminal try this:

> python2.7
...
> from numpy import *
> arange(4)

You should see [0 1 2 3]. This test rules out issues with VIDLE or Visual.

I assume these are Intel Macs?
