LCARS Linux is a project to create a solid, stable and secure, source based distribution of Linux, using dpkg and apt as the package managers.
On top of this distro, will run a new type of user interface, LCARS. While based of the LCARS from Star Trek, it wont contain any of the eye candy from the shows. It is simply a new sort of interface based on LCARS.
The interface will be designed from the ground up for performance, and initially will be based on an existing desktop environment, but we hope to eventually work on a new DE.
