Seesaw is a Clojure library and DSL built on top of Java Swing to simplify GUI development. It abstracts Swing complexities into a more natural Clojure syntax, enabling fast desktop UI creation with idiomatic code and rich customization options. Swing knowledge is not required for many apps. Construct widgets with simple functions. Support for all of Swing's built-in widgets as well as SwingX. Support for all of Swing's layout managers as well as MigLayout, and JGoodies Forms.
Features
- High-level DSL for defining UI components and layouts more naturally in Clojure
- Extensive core API including seesaw.core for essential widgets and operations
- Support for behaviors that can be mixed into widgets (e.g., focus-select, mouse-drag)
- Namespaces covering actions, forms, tables, events, drawing, layout, and more
- Built upon Swing for cross-platform GUI compatibility
- Well-documented and hosted via Clojars with long-term maintenance
