    "Easy to use media server"

    Pros: Available for free.
    Simple to setup - start streaming your content in less than 5 minutes.
    Works even over internet.
    Available across devices - desktop, mobile, streaming devices.
    Download content on smartphone for offline viewing - requires subscription.

    Cons: Sign Up mandatory - Lots of concern about user data collection.
    Scan doesn't recognize certain formats (might be a specific issue with my video files).
    Advanced features locked behind subscription - Plex Pass.
    Much less customization options than Kodi.

    Overall: I use plex to stream media from a home server ( old laptop ) across my other devices - mobile , FireTV stick and PC . It works great over wifi for 720p resolution. It lacks the customization options of Kodi but the simple setup makes up for it.

    FYI I have reviewed the Plex home media server (not the streaming service.)
