It supports various encodings, including UTF-8, UTF-16LE, UTF-16BE, Latin-1 (ISO-8859-1), and Windows 1252, automatically detecting most CSV formats and encodings. Users can utilize JavaScript as a macro language to manipulate CSV files, accessing all cells for content changes and calculations. Tablecruncher allows exporting table data to JSON, producing an array of objects if a header row is present, or an array of arrays otherwise. The find and replace dialog supports pattern searches within the table or selected areas, with Regular Expressions compliant with the ECMAScript 5 standard. It offers four color themes, including a dark mode compatible theme, enhancing user experience.
